Requirements Needed in Opening Account
Kindly do well to have the following requirements:
- Complete an Account Opening Form
- Attach a recent passport-sized photograph. Provide valid Ghana Card ID (NB: Foreign nationals shall submit a valid Passport and Resident Permit – this is mandatory)
- U.S. citizens, residents, and green card holders are required to complete Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act (FATCA) supplementary form i.e., W8 or W9 where applicable
- Provide valid Ghana Card ID (NB: Foreign nationals shall submit a Resident Permit – this is mandatory)
Foreign Currency and Foreign Exchange Accounts
Foreign Currency and Foreign Exchange Accounts may be opened in the following major currencies:
- US Dollar (USD)
- Pound Sterling (GBP)
- Euro (EUR)
The features and benefits of our Foreign Currency and Foreign Exchange Current Accounts are as follows:
- No minimum account balance;
- No service charge on account.
Requirements Needed in Opening Account
Kindly do well to have the following requirements:
- Complete an Account Opening Form
- Attach a passport-sized photograph
- Provide a valid Ghana Card ID
- Submit proof of residence (e.g. utility bill, sketch to the residence, etc.)
- A valid resident permit is required for non-Ghanaians resident in Ghana
- A letter of introduction is required from one of the following individuals:
- A holder of a current account
- Employers
- A reputable individual of good standing (e.g., a senior public office holder, a recognized professional such as lawyers, doctors, accountants, senior banking officials, or reputable religious leaders) – subject to verification and confirmation by the Bank.
University Staff Current Account
This account is designed to provide financial solutions that meet the needs of university employees. The account facilitates everyday banking with flexibility and ease.

Requirements Needed in Opening Account
Kindly do well to have the following requirements:
- Complete an Account Opening Form
- Attach a passport-sized photograph
- Provide a valid Ghana Card ID
- Department where the staff works
- Residential address
- Directional sketch to the residence of staff and proof of residential address (e.g. utility bills or current tenancy agreement) i.e. if the staff does not reside in a bungalow or house provided by the university on campus
- Foreign nationals shall provide the following (mandatory):
- Valid Passport
- Residence Permit
- Work Permit
- Non-citizen Ghana Card from National Identification Authority
- Letter of Introduction from the university (for foreign nationals)
